The latest with COVID-19

Since November, HomewardBound has been testing guests and staff weekly with same-day results allowing for nearly immediate quarantine of positive individuals offsite at hotels procured by Mesa County Public Health.

Since early 2020, HomewardBound has adhered to strict guidelines provided by Mesa County Public Health, the State of Colorado and federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) by screening for COVID symptoms upon entry to both its North Avenue and Pathways Family shelters, providing the means for appropriate hand cleansing with sanitizer and soap for all staff and guests, and deep-cleaning all shelter common areas routinely, including daily use of commercial-grade disinfectants and cleaning agents. Face masks are required for staff on-site in all public spaces, and guests experiencing symptoms are isolated pending test results.

As the only emergency shelter within 240 miles of Grand Junction during unprecedented health and economic crises, please know that your continued goodwill and financial support in the coming weeks and months is critical. Thank you and please stay safe!
