On February 28, 2026, the Grand Junction community is invited to take part in The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY), a 5K to raise funds and awareness for those experiencing hunger and homelessness. This is the only CNOY event in Colorado– designed to provide walkers the experience of what it might feel like to be houseless and have to spend the night out in the cold.
Walkers will collect pledges as they work to raise awareness for issues surrounding houselessness in our community. Funds raised will go to benefit HomewardBound of the Grand Valley and its vision to eliminate the unwanted condition of homelessness in the Grand Valley.
Participants who raise over $150 (or $75 for youth walkers) will earn the CNOY signature toque - a warm winter hat, as a gift for their hard work and support of those in our community who need it most.
The CNOY website does not open until November 1st. You can form teams and start raising funds today! Reach out to info@hbgv, or Marissa at mlocke@hbgv.come to fill out a pledge form, sign up a team, or submit your RSVP! You can also scan the QR code on the flyer for more information.
